Help families affected by the oil spill keep their pets Pets along the Louisiana coast need your help once again. Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) is reporting that people whose livelihoods have been impacted by the Gulf oil spill are finding themselves forced to surrender their pets. The rescue that was created in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to help abandoned and homeless animals in Louisiana and Mississippi reports that it currently has as many pets in foster as it has in its no-kill shelter. And with a more-than-active predicted hurricane season, the situation for people and their pets is looking even more precarious. |
